Leah Sheppard
Residential Area Manager
Bio
Leah has been working at Midway Transitional Solutions since 2015; starting as a Leaving Care Support Worker before transferring over into the Residential Care Service and advancing through roles such as Link Worker, Manager and now Area Manager for the Residential Services. Prior to this, Leah worked for a large charity as a Children’s Services Practitioner delivering care and support to children with additional needs and disabilities.
Leah has been able to gain formal qualifications in order to enhance her skillset and work practice and now holds a Level 5 in the Management of Children and Young People, an Honours Degree in Law and Criminology and a Master’s Degree in Psychology. This allows Leah to bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team and use these skills to help enhance the lives of all of the children that we support at Midway.
Throughout her career, Leah has been deeply passionate and committed to developing and supporting the lives of many looked after children. Leah has been driven and focused on making a lasting, positive impact in their lives and helping them to build the tools they need to move into adulthood successfully and positively. Utilising a compassionate approach Leah has been able to support a fantastic team of staff across the Residential Service to deliver exceptional care to the young people who reside with us to enhance their future lives and development.
In her spare time, Leah enjoys going for walk with her dogs Riley and Rory; as well as travelling to gain new cultural experiences around the world. Leah is part of a local dance school and also volunteers to help train the younger pupils at the school who perform around the country in shows and competitions.
