Welcome to G.A.T.E. We provide a safe, nurturing, and inspiring alternative provision for young people who require education other than at school (EOTAS).
Based at Mamhilad Park Estate, we offer both classroom-based education and community learning opportunities, ensuring every learner has access to an approach that suits their needs.
Our goal is simple: to empower young people to build confidence, resilience, and skills that prepare them for a positive and successful future.
Who We Are
G.A.T.E. (Greatness Achieved Through Education) is an alternative education provision dedicated to supporting looked-after and vulnerable children who have experienced disruptions in their previous educational placements. We understand the unique challenges faced by these children and are committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment where they can thrive. Our team is composed of experienced educators and support staff who work from a trauma informed basis and are passionate about helping children overcome obstacles and achieve greatness through education.
What We Do
At G.A.T.E., we specialise in tuition and assessment, using a traffic light system to evaluate and monitor each child's progress. Our primary goal is to reintegrate children back into mainstream education, equipped with the skills and resilience needed for success. We focus on teaching life skills and building emotional and social wellbeing, ensuring that our students are prepared for the challenges they may face. We work with schools/PRU’s to keep children on a bespoke curriculum, not too dissimilar to ones they would be on in schools. Through our comprehensive programs, we aim to foster a sense of belonging, confidence, and independence in every child we support. We take a holistic approach to learning which encompasses the four core purposes within the curriculum Wales.
Who We Work With
G.A.T.E. works closely with local schools, social services, and various educational organisations to create a collaborative network of support for our students. Our partnerships enable us to tailor our programs to the specific needs of each child, ensuring a holistic approach to their education and wellbeing. We utilise tools like Outcome STAR to assess and monitor the emotional wellbeing of our students, providing targeted interventions and support. By working together with these partners, we strive to create a seamless transition for children back into mainstream education, promoting long-term success and personal growth.
Not all learning happens in the classroom. At G.A.T.E, we provide opportunities for young people to gain knowledge and skills through community-based projects and activities. This flexible approach builds confidence, encourages independence, and helps prepare students for life beyond education.Support & Wellbeing.
