Mere Path

Whilst living at Mere Path the children and young people can receive a number of services identified as being required to fully meet their needs. The home is set out that children and young people who live at Mere Path live in a homely environment. The home gives the child or young person the opportunity to live as a small family like unit within a residential community.

  • An individual personal plan that is regularly updated and is overseen by the manager
  • Appropriate therapeutic interventions if identified from suitably qualified personnel
  • This may be local government or private
  • The preparation and provision of an integrated care package, tailored to individual needs, to include full risk assessments
  • The development of pathway plans for children over 16 focusing on life skills, further education and career aspirations
  • Support in maintaining mainstream school or college attendance.
  • Preparation of future placements, prior to discharge from the home
  • Encouragement and support in developing their own interests and activities within the local community.

  • Two separate bedrooms with individual locks and a staff bedroom
  • One large communal dining/kitchen area for staff, children and young people to sit, cook and have meals together
  • One lounge for children, young people and staff to sit, and relax in the evenings and weekends to chat and watch TV
  • One upstairs family bathroom with bath, shower, toilet and sink
  • One downstairs bathroom with toilet and sink
  • An enclosed large size garden to the rear of the house for young people to use. This has a lawn, flower borders and a patio for barbeques
